Operators from Ukraine’s 413th Unmanned Systems Regiment “Raid” have struck another Russian Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system, according to a video released by the unit on March 24.
The latest strike marks the fourth Tor-M2 system targeted by the regiment since March 12, highlighting a sustained effort to degrade Russian air defense capabilities.
According to the unit, the operation to locate and engage the system was carried out several days earlier. Aerial reconnaissance footage confirmed that the launcher’s missile compartment was damaged, likely rendering the system inoperable and requiring extensive repairs.
The regiment emphasized the broader operational impact of these strikes.
“The destruction of two and damage to two other Tor-M2 systems means the enemy has a ‘gap’ in its air defense system stretching 50 to 100 kilometers along the front,” the unit said.
It added that such a gap could allow large numbers of Ukrainian strike drones to penetrate Russian defenses.
“In turn, this means that dozens or even hundreds of Ukrainian mid-range and long-range strike drones can break through this ‘gap’ simultaneously,” the statement said.
Russia is believed to have had around 120 Tor systems in total, making the loss or damage of four units in less than two weeks a significant attrition rate.

Earlier, Ukrainian forces carried out a series of precision strikes, targeting multiple Russian military assets, including a Bastion coastal missile system launcher in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
