Russia’s latest offensive against Ukraine may have actually been a trap. Their salient near Pokrovsk and Chasiv Yar made big headlines, only to be quickly beaten back by Ukrainian special forces from the Azov Brigade. It matches the pattern of other traps Ukraine has set for Russia throughout the war. The implications of this are large…and they are still relevant even if this wasn’t a trick. From now on, Russia will have serious reservations about taking advantage of “weak spots” in the Ukrainian front line.
