Ukraine joins NATO aviation system: Ukrainian Armed Forces aircraft will coordinate with allies

Ukraine has joined the NATO aviation system through a digital interface, which will allow Ukrainian Armed Forces aircraft to coordinate their actions with allies.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization Kateryna Chernogorenko, Censor.NET reports.

Ukraine has signed a license agreement to use NATO software – the Command and Control Center System Interface (CRC System Interface, CSI). This interface operates via the Link-16 protocol, which is known as NATO’s “military Wi-Fi”.

CSI allows for the exchange of information between aircraft such as the F-16 and Mirage 2000, as well as air defense and missile defense systems (Patriot) and other defense elements.

The agreement was made possible through the cooperation of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, the Air Force, and international partners. According to Chernogorenko, this paves the way for full interoperability with NATO partners.

“We are not just dreaming about joint operations with allies, we are making it a reality,” she wrote.

  1. Essentially not in NATO but using thier assets. Im thinking Ukraine is fighting this war better than “NATO” would. More incentive, personal investment, less red tape, more intune with tactics, just a superior army.
