Editor’s Opinion: This is a propaganda article that aligns with the current Kremlin and White House negotiating positions.

Foreign Affairs is supposed to be a centrist publication read by US movers and shakers.
Yet this OpEd could have been written by Vance, Rubio, or any other official from Kremlin West.
This guy is a Trumper, if not in name but certainly in views. See my comment below.
I checked the author with AI and although he’s considered a prominent foreign affairs analyst out of Notre Dame, his policy views towards foreign affairs were summed up as follows:
“Desch has noted that some of Trump’s positions overlap with long‑standing realist critiques of U.S. foreign policy:
• Questioning NATO burden‑sharing
• Skepticism toward democracy‑promotion abroad
• Criticism of open‑ended military interventions
• Interest in recalibrating relations with Russia”
Does any of this sound familiar? What other position would this author take then “give up” and suck up to a mass murderer?
It’s not a secret that we have our share of encephalic individuals who call themselves “experts”. In truth, they don’t see the big picture as they peer through the pornographic peephole, seeing only their narrow dark world of fascism, communism, or some other sewer with an -ism suffix.
