Ukraine has established a pilot unit to test robotic air defense modules under combat conditions, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky.
Speaking at a press meeting attended by Militarnyi’s correspondent, Syrsky said the unit is tasked with evaluating automated systems developed domestically, capable of detecting and destroying aerial targets without human input.
One such system, recently presented by Ukrainian developers, delegates all functions — detection, target acquisition, and engagement command — to artificial intelligence.
The Sky Sentinel module, which can be fitted with 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine guns, is designed to engage low-flying and slow-moving aerial targets.

Ukrainian engineers are also believed to be working on additional robotic platforms armed with 20–30 mm cannons, as well as missile systems and drone-based interceptors.
Miltarnyi previously reported on an FPV interceptor drone created by Justifier Drones. Launched from a larger carrier drone, the interceptor extends the range and altitude at which targets can be engaged.
The FPV drone diverges from the standard quadcopter design and resembles a miniature missile, featuring four propellers instead of a rocket engine, similar in shape to the Sting interceptor drone.

Just imagine what a fully automated air defense system means, especially for a beleaguered nation like Ukraine. It could be downright revolutionary. Even if some input must still be made by a human or humans, this could increase efficiency manifold.
Ukraine is forced to look into every facet, every possibility, to increase its air defense capability, in particular since foreign components still make up a large part of mafia missiles and drones, even after three and a half years of war.
Need to put one on every corner of the schools and hospitals…Vladolf’s main targets.
Awesome!
