Ukraine did not support the UN General Assembly resolution encouraging the use of the Equal Earth map projection, as the relevant map depicts the temporarily occupied Crimea separately from the rest of Ukraine.

This was reported by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN, Censor.NET reports .
On the map, Crimea is marked in a different color and visually separated from Ukraine. The mission emphasized that such a depiction contradicts international law and UN General Assembly resolutions on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“Ukraine, in principle, does not object to the substance of the issue raised in this draft resolution. However, Ukraine cannot sign the draft resolution in its current form due to a specific problem related to the Equal Earth cartographic projection mentioned in the text,” the mission said.
On the eve of the vote, the Ukrainian side tried to reach an agreement with the authors of the document on a compromise wording of the relevant clause, but no agreement was reached.
“We regret that all our efforts to reach out to the authors of this draft resolution yesterday and this morning in order to find a compromise wording on paragraph OP8 have not yielded results,” Ukrainian diplomats noted.
The UN General Assembly approved the resolution on September 4. The document calls on governments and institutions to use the Equal Earth projection instead of the traditional Mercator projection.
164 countries voted in favor of the resolution. The United States opposed it, and six other countries, including Ukraine, abstained. Джерело: https://censor.net/ua/n4022110

The map is correct. 😁
No, it’s not. Most people I know in Crimea want to return to Ukraine, and they and the peninsula will.
I think we all know what to think about this very corrupt and ineffective organization.
Tatars and Mongol-Tatars burned and sacked Kyiv twice in history: first during the devastating Mongol siege in 1240, and later during a raid by the Crimean Tatars in 1482.
