On June 26, Crimean Tatar Flag Day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that
Ukraine continues the systematic struggle for the liberation of Crimea and deprives Russia of the opportunity to use the peninsula as a military springboard for aggression. The Head of State emphasized that the restoration of justice for Crimea is inextricably linked to the protection of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people
The president announced this on social media. He recalled that it was with the occupation of Crimea that Russia began its aggression against Ukraine.
Ukraine continues the fight for the liberation of Crimea
Zelensky emphasized that today no one can say that Ukraine has forgotten about Crimea or stopped the fight for its return.
According to him, the state proves every day with its actions that it remembers every occupied region and every Ukrainian who remains under Russian occupation.
“Today, not a single person on earth will say that we are not fighting for Crimea and that we have forgotten about Crimea. Every day proves that Ukraine remembers every part of it, every person,” the president emphasized.
Ukraine deprives Russia of a military bridgehead
The President recalled that it was with the occupation of Crimea that Russia began its aggression against Ukraine.
According to him, today Ukraine is systematically destroying Russia’s ability to use the peninsula for waging war.
This concerns, in particular, the use of Ukrainian long-range weapons, medium-range sanctions, and other instruments of pressure on the aggressor state.
“Russia has turned Crimea into a springboard for aggressive operations against other parts of our state and against other countries. Today, Ukraine is depriving Russia of this springboard and putting an end to its efforts to normalize the war,” Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State noted that for many years Russia has been trying to impose on the world the idea that its aggression is unstoppable, but Ukraine proves the opposite.
Justice for Ukraine means justice for the Crimean Tatars
The President emphasized that the de-occupation of Crimea is inextricably linked to the protection of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people.
He recalled the deportation of Crimean Tatars, decades of persecution, and new repressions following the Russian occupation of the peninsula in 2014.
According to Zelensky, the Crimean Tatar people are an integral part of Ukrainian society, and their struggle for the right to live on their native land is part of Ukraine’s struggle for freedom.
Crimean Tatar Flag Day
The President also congratulated Ukrainians on Crimean Tatar Flag Day, which is celebrated every year on June 26.
He emphasized that the blue flag with a golden tamga is a symbol of the unity of the Crimean Tatar people and the struggle for freedom.
“Today, when we honor the blue flag with a golden tamga, we affirm that Ukraine is fighting for itself and for all its lands, defending justice for itself and all its people,” Zelenskyy noted.
In conclusion, Zelensky stressed that Ukraine will continue to work to stop Russian aggression, release all Ukrainian prisoners, and restore a just and lasting peace.
According to him, Russia must stop the war, and all temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, including Crimea, must return to Ukrainian control.
As OBOZ.UA reported, the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, stated that ” the war began with Crimea, and the liberation of the occupied Ukrainian territories will begin with the liberation of Crimea.” He emphasized that if the occupied Crimea remains without fuel and electricity for the time being, the Kremlin will sit down at the negotiating table . That is why the Ukrainian defenders, among other things, are focused on stopping enemy logistics to the occupied peninsula.

The world will be better with Ukraine in the center of the Black Sea instead of the Moskali.
Preach!!!
The indigenous people of Crimea are the Tatars. They choose to be UKRAINIAN.
Firstly, all putler’s post 2014 putinaZi imports must go or be kicked out. All their property and assets must return to Ukrainian ownership.
Ethnic Russians who have lived in Crimea since before 2014 are only there there because of the policies Stalin and Lenin to swamp the peninsula with vermin. They must renounce ruZZian citizenship and lose their putinaZi passports. If they refuse : kick the fuckers out.
The majority of people I know in Crimea are pro-Ukraine. Only one couple I know there is pro-mafia. But maybe they changed their minds since we last communicated in early 2022. Maybe not.
