Ukraine cuts off Russian troops by destroying last bridge in Kursk Oblast

Ukrainian forces may have destroyed the third and final bridge over the Seym River in the village of Karyzh in Russia’s Kursk region, cutting off Russian troops from supply routes in the Hlushkivskyi district, according to the Russian Telegram channel Astra on Aug. 19.

Residents of the district evacuated by boat on Aug. 18. If confirmed, the destruction of the last bridge could trap Russian units south of the Seym river, creating an encirclement of nearly 700 square kilometers, Censor.net reports.

On Aug. 16, Ukrainian forces destroyed the largest bridge in Hlushkove, followed by another bridge in Zvannoye the next day. Commander of Ukraine’s Air Force, Mykola Oleschuk, confirmed the strikes on Aug. 18.

Ukrainian military analyst Vasyl Pekhno told Radio NV that around 700-800 Russian paratroopers could now be trapped within Ukrainian encirclement after the bridge demolitions.

I wonder if this is true. The number of roaches seems pretty low for an area of this size.
