Ukraine confirmed on October 1 the total destruction of storage facilities belonging to Russia’s Rubikon drone unit near Volnovakha in the Donetsk region.
The strike took place on September 23, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff announced that Ukrainian forces also hit a series of Russian military targets in the Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions on September 30 and overnight into October 1.
Striking such sites is “one of the priorities of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the General Staff stated. It added that the aim is to reduce Russia’s ability to use attack drones against civilian infrastructure.
The General Staff listed the following targets:
- a site used for storing, preparing and launching attack drones in the area of Donetsk;
- a Russian drone command post in the area of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region;
- a rocket and artillery weapons depot in the area of Verkhniokamianka in the Luhansk region;
- a concentration area of Russian weapons and military equipment in the area of Tymoshivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The statement did not provide damage assessments for these four sites. The General Staff noted that work against key Russian military targets is continuing.
The destruction continues a run of Ukrainian strikes on Rubikon infrastructure in recent weeks.
On August 29 and overnight into August 30, a Rubikon drone storage facility in Khartsyzk in the Donetsk region was hit. On September 22 and overnight into September 23, a Rubikon drone warehouse near Volnovakha was struck, along with Russian UAV command posts near Novoselivka Persha and Dachne.

Sometimes it takes a little while but Ukraine manages to regularly carry out extraordinary strikes on important cockroach assets.
