Ukrainian forces have already used a domestically produced ballistic missile capable of striking targets at distances of 800 to 900 kilometers, Taras Chmut, head of the “Come Back Alive” Foundation told reporters from “Novosti.Live” on the sidelines of the international Security Architecture Forum. Chmut clarified that this was a combat, not test, deployment of the missile, but he declined to say whether the target was Russian territory or Ukrainian land currently occupied by Russia.

When pressed by a journalist on whether Ukraine has ballistic missiles with such an extended range, Chmut replied simply, “Yes, we do.” He further confirmed that such a missile had already been used in combat, though he did not disclose details about the specific target.

Chmut emphasized that it is not his role to evaluate the effectiveness of the Ukrainian-made ballistic missile. “But if the question is whether Ukraine has used its own ballistics against the Russian Federation as an enemy-yes, it has, and there have been multiple official reports about this from various officials in past years. The effectiveness, serial production, scale, and so on-those are details that should be addressed to those same officials, and they should comment as much as possible,” Chmut added.

He also stated that Ukraine continues to develop and manufacture its own ballistic missiles. However, he cautioned that such missiles will never be as ubiquitous as drones, since they are far more complex technological products.

Earlier, Denis Shtilerman, co-owner of missile developer “Fire Point,” said that a Ukrainian ballistic missile capable of reaching Moscow could be ready by mid-summer. His company, which is behind the “Flamingo” missile, says it will be able to produce as many FP-9 ballistic missiles as needed.

In early February, Fire Point co-founders unveiled the FP-7 and FP-9 missiles. The FP-7 is intended to become a replacement for the ATACMS system.

On February 27, Fire Point released a video showing the launch of the new FP-7 ballistic missile.

The FP-7 and FP-9 missiles were first showcased at the MSPO international exhibition in Poland. At the time, it was reported that the missile could hit targets up to 200 kilometers away at a speed of 1,500 meters per second. It carries a 150-kilogram warhead with an accuracy of 14 meters. The missile is launched from a ground platform, providing operational flexibility.
