Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian missile and artillery ammunition depot near Solone Ozero in temporarily occupied Crimea in a joint drone operation involving the 422nd Unmanned Systems Regiment and the Security Service of Ukraine’s Alpha special operations unit.

According to Militarnyi on August 15, the strike targeted a Russian military facility near Solone Ozero, northeast of Dzhankoi. The operation was supported by the 3rd Department of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate (HUR).

Footage of the attack was published by Mykola Kolesnyk, commander of the 422nd Unmanned Systems Regiment. Militarnyi and OSINT analyst blinzka subsequently geolocated the site and identified it as a missile and artillery storage facility near the settlement.

Satellite fire-monitoring data from NASA FIRMS recorded a large fire at the location on August 13. Open-source mapping data also indicates the presence of a Russian military facility in the area, according to Militarnyi.

Ukrainian forces used domestically produced medium-range strike drones during the operation, including the Ukrainian-made Zozulia unmanned aerial vehicle.

Ukraine has continued targeting Russian air-defense and drone infrastructure across occupied Crimea. On August 10, HUR reported that its Group 13 unit destroyed two Russian S-400 launchers and an antenna used to control Orion reconnaissance-and-strike drones, using Magura naval platforms carrying FPV drones.
