The early morning of September 7th was noisy in Perm, Russia. Explosions could be heard in the city, and local residents could watch drones fly overhead.

The Lukoil-Permnaftoorgsintez oil refinery, which produces over 60 types of products, was under attack. Photos and videos were published by the Telegram channel Supernova+.

The attack on an important Russian oil facility in Perm became known around 06:00. Locals actively filmed and commented on the movement of drones moving towards the refinery.

What is known about the refinery?

Lukoil-Permnaftoorgsintez, known as the Perm Refinery, is one of the largest oil and gas refining enterprises in Russia. The plant is located in Perm and is owned by Lukoil-Permnaftoorgsintez.

The plant’s design capacity is to process up to 13.1 million tons of oil per year. In addition, the plant can process up to 1.7 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons and about 1.46 billion cubic meters of associated petroleum gas annually.

The enterprise produces over 60 types of products. Among them are five brands of gasoline, about 20 types of diesel fuel, jet and marine fuel, industrial and base lubricants, fuel oil, liquefied gas, butane, isobutane, aromatic hydrocarbons, electrode coke, granulated sulfur, and sulfuric acid.

The plant ships finished products by rail, road, and water, as well as via the Perm-Andreivka-Ufa oil pipeline. Approximately half of the products produced are intended for export.

As a reminder, on the morning of September 6, Ukrainian drones hit the Ryazan Oil Refinery in Russia, as well as the Rostov-on-Don airfield in Russia. Fires were recorded at both facilities. The refinery can process about 17 million tons of oil per year, making it one of the largest refineries in Russia.

As OBOZ.UA reported, earlier it was also uneasy in Sochi, there were also explosions there. But then the local port came under attack, and as a result of the hits, a thick column of smoke rose into the sky.
