As ASTRA writes, Monocrystal JSC is one of the main producers of sapphire for the optoelectronic industry.

Synthetic sapphire is used in optical systems, protective elements of sensors and lasers, including military devices. It is also used in components of aerospace, instrument-making and other high-tech industries, including the military.

“Smoke is visible in eyewitness footage. According to ASTRA’s analysis, the photo was taken near the Rostiks restaurant on Kulakov Avenue in Stavropol. Monocrystal is located on the same avenue. The smoke in the photo was recorded directly above the enterprise,” the report said.

As OBOZ.UA reported, in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation, drones attacked the Arzamas Instrument-Making Plant on the night of August 11. After a series of explosions, a fire broke out there, damaging buildings on the territory.

It later became known that the Arzamas Instrument-Making Plant was hit by drones of the Security Service of Ukraine. The enterprise produces components for the Kh-32 and Kh-101 missiles, which the Russian army uses to strike Ukraine. At least four drones reached the target.
