In the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation, people complained about a “massive attack by UAVs.” It was allegedly “repelled” – in particular, with the help of the Balashovskaya power substation.
According to the official version, “debris” fell on the substation, which led to a fire. This was stated by the governor of the Volgograd region, Andrey Bocharov.

The result of another “successfully repelled attack” by Ukrainian drones was the repeated destruction of an important facility for the central part of the Russian Federation – the Balashovskaya power transmission substation. The fire that broke out there was confirmed by local authorities.
“The air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation repelled a massive attack by unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the Volgograd region. As a result of the fall of UAV debris in the Novomykolaiv district, a fire was recorded on the territory of the Balashovsk power transmission substation, which was promptly extinguished by firefighting forces. A private residential building was damaged in the Svetloyarsky district. There were no casualties,” said the governor of the region, Andrey Bocharov, on the morning of October 25.
The Russians themselves claimed on social media that the “fragments” exploded at least 5-6 times.
The Balashovskaya 500 kV substation with an installed capacity of 1,523 MVA is located in the working village of Novomykolaivskoye in the north of the Volgograd region. The substation provides a transit flow of electricity from the Volga Hydroelectric Power Plant to the Central region of Russia, and electricity supply to consumers in the Novomykolaivsky district of the Volgograd region, the southeastern part of the Voronezh region, and the western part of the Saratov region.
It is a key link in the transmission of electricity, primarily in the Moscow, Middle Volga and Southern energy zones. The operation of the substation determines the energy stability and backup of the power supply of the Saratov region, as well as neighboring regions – the Penza and Tambov regions. 500 kV main power transmission lines pass through it, connecting the 500 kV substations “Saratovskaya”, “Penza”, “Mordovskaya”.
The Balashovskaya substation was successfully attacked for the second time this night. The first attack occurred on October 16. Then drones attacked the facility, a fire broke out on it. The governor of the region also blamed “debris” for everything, a number of settlements were plunged into darkness.
OBOZ.UA previously reported that GUR agents eliminated Russian paratroopers in Stavropol. The unit in which they fought in Ukraine is implicated in committing war crimes.
The mafia state already has rolling blackouts here and there, but I want to see massive power outages for the crime syndicate’s major cities. This attack is a good first step.
