A meeting of Ukrainian and American delegations has begun at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia . The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported this on Telegram, posting a video.

“A meeting between Ukrainian and American delegations begins in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia,” the statement said.

From the Ukrainian side, the meeting is attended by the Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, and Deputy Head of the Office of the President Pavlo Palisa.

The American side will be represented by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US National Security Advisor Michael Volz, and US Special Presidential Representative for Near East Affairs Steven Witkoff.

As noted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the key topics of the meeting will be “the path to peace and bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United States.”

The meeting was also confirmed by the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak.

“Let’s get started,” he wrote.

Updated 11.50. American journalist for CNN Alex Marquardt published a fragment of Yermak’s conversation with the media before the meeting in Jeddah on the X network.

“Of course, security guarantees are very important because we want this aggression to never happen again in the future. Of course, this is very important. But now we think that it is necessary to discuss the most important thing – how to start this process,” Yermak said.

According to him, the Ukrainian delegation is very open and strives to conduct a constructive, deep and frank discussion with American partners.
