Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov and Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Varank signed a framework agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in high technology, aviation and space industries.

As an UNIAN correspondent reports, this happened during today’s visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kiev.

As President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted after the signing of the agreement, she will expand the production of Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukraine.

“Our goal is the implementation of specific projects for the creation of joint ventures, the exchange of experience, the exchange of technologies. Today, an agreement has been signed that will expand the production of Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukraine. These are new technologies, new jobs, and an increase in the defense capability of Ukraine,” he said.

As UNIAN reported, in September 2021, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba announced that a  plant for the production of Turkish  Bayraktar drones would appear in Ukraine.

On September 29, in the presence of Head of State Volodymyr Zelensky, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and Bayraktar Savunma on the construction and equipping of a joint training and testing center for the maintenance, maintenance, modernization of UAVs, as well as training for personnel related to the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles. Bayraktar devices. The center will be built near Vasilkov, Kiev region.

According to Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, this framework agreement, in particular, provides for the construction of the Bayraktar plant in Ukraine.
