However, there has been no progress on sensitive issues, particularly regarding territories, the president said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that there is some progress at the talks in Geneva regarding the prospects for monitoring the ceasefire, if an appropriate agreement is reached and there is political will. The head of state told journalists in a voice message on the WhatsApp chat network.

As the president noted, the content of the talks concerned two areas – military and political. According to Zelensky, in the talks between Ukraine, the United States, and the Russian Federation, “all three parties were constructive in the military direction.”

“There will be more details upon my group’s return. But so far, what I have heard is: in principle, the military understands how to monitor the ceasefire and the cessation of the war, if there is political will. In principle, they have agreed on almost everything there. Monitoring will definitely involve the American side. I believe this is a constructive signal,” Zelensky stressed.

At the same time, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Andriy Hnatov, should report on all other details of this process, namely – where and how to monitor, technical nuances – after returning from Geneva.Read also:

At the same time, the president noted, the political component concerns all sensitive issues – the East, sanctions, etc. He also announced a broader report by the delegation upon its return:

“We see that there are developments, but for now the positions are different, because the negotiations were not easy. Therefore, my subgroup will also show me all these nuances.”

The Head of State concluded that there is progress in the military direction, and in the political direction – there was dialogue.

“We agreed to move on, we agreed to continue. I haven’t heard of any progress there, as in the military plan. But, let me emphasize again, my group said that they can’t tell me everything by phone – they want to, but they can’t yet. There will be more understanding upon our return,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
