The Kerch ferry, which provides transportation of transport and cargo between the ports of the Caucasus and Crimea, has lost about 75% of its capacity even after a two-week operation by the MoLoChKa Unmanned Systems Forces. Of the five vessels that provided the ferry service, none is now operating normally.
This was announced by the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi. He shared the results of the operation on his own Telegram channel.
According to “Magyar”, before the start of the operation, transportation through the Kerch Strait was provided by four ferries that regularly sailed between the port of Kavkaz and the port of Crimea, and another vessel was in reserve in the port of Kerch.
The ferry included the ferries “Lavrentiy”, “Panagia”, “Eisk”, “Maria”, as well as the vessel SKS-One.
The ferry “Eisk” was hit on July 12 and 13. After that, it was towed to the port of Kerch, and the vessel’s return to the ferry line is not planned.
The SKS-One was destroyed in strikes on July 7, 12, and 13. It is currently in the port of Kamysh-Burun. According to the SBS, the ship is beyond repair.
The ferry “Maria” was repeatedly hit by the Forces of Unmanned Systems and the Security Service of Ukraine during July. After that, it was also towed to the port of Kerch, and there are no plans to restore it and return to service.
The ferries “Lavrentiy” and “Panagia” can no longer move independently and are used only as barges, which are moved by tugs. The sides were hit by the forces of the SBS, SBU and GUR.
The ferry’s capacity has been significantly reduced
As “Magyar” noted, one ferry could carry from eight to 15 units of transport, depending on their dimensions and weight.
Before the operation, the four operating ferries provided transportation of approximately 180–250 units of transport per day under standard conditions. According to him, about 80% of all traffic was transportation under the quota of the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country.
According to the assessment of the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, after Operation “MoLoChKa”, the Kerch ferry crossing lost 75% of its capabilities and currently retains only a quarter of its previous capacity.
As a reminder, the Unmanned Systems Forces struck 13 more power substations in the temporarily occupied territories overnight, most of them in Crimea. The enemy also missed 4 more ships of its “shadow fleet” in the Black Sea.
As OBOZ.UA reported, the Ukrainian army’s attacks on Russian shadow fleet ships in the Sea of Azov have become the largest and most intense naval campaign in almost half a century. According to the publication, over nine days, Ukrainian forces hit more than 110 Russian ships.
