The British authorities have imposed sanctions against seven people who are believed to be FSB officers associated with the poisoning of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. This was reported on the website of the British government.
The sanctions list includes:
- Head of the Service for the Protection of the Constitutional System and the Fight against Terrorism of the FSB Alexey Sedov;
- Director of the Institute of Forensic Science of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation Kirill Vasiliev;
- Deputy Director of the Scientific and Technical Service of the FSB Vladimir Bogdanov;
- FSB officers Alexey Alexandrov, Stanislav Makshakov, Ivan Spiridonov and Vladimir Panyaev…
Almost all of these people were mentioned in the investigation by The Insider and Bellingcat about the poisoning of Navalny, which came out in December 2020.
Konstantin Kudryavtsev, the alleged FSB officer who, in a telephone conversation with Navalny, actually confirmed that the politician had been poisoned with Novichok poison, is not on the sanctions list.
