Russian authorities have not yet confirmed the drone attack on Cheboksary. However, Russian authorities claim that drone debris allegedly fell on a multi-story residential building, where a fire started on the upper floors.
What is known about the VNIIR-Progress plant in Cheboksary?
VNIIR-Progress is part of the ABS Electro association and is considered a key manufacturer of the Kometa series antennas, as previously reported by Militarnye. These antennas are used in Russian drones, particularly the Shahed attack drones, as well as in Kalibr and Iskander-M cruise missiles.
Antennas manufactured by the company protect Russian army drones from Ukrainian electronic warfare systems.
The plant had been attacked before. On July 5th of this year, drones struck the plant’s production facility, causing a fire.
As a reminder, on the night of November 25, drones attacked Taganrog in Russia: reports surfaced online of a strike on an aircraft factory and the destruction of an enemy aircraft.
Also on November 25, the Krasnodar region of Russia was attacked by drones en masse, and radiation sirens sounded: Russians accused Ukrainian hackers of hacking the system.

The drone debris strikes again.
