U.S. top official outlines two main tasks to ensure Ukraine’s victory over Russia

Ukraine must halt Russia’s advances in the east and prevent any economic damage inflicted on population to ensure its victory in the war, Assistant State Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien said, Ukrinform reported on June 25.

This strategy highlights the importance to deprive Russia of the ability to use its fire positions and hinder Ukraine’s efforts to rebuild its economy.

“When I talk about Ukraine’s strategy for success right now, it’s about halting Russia’s attempts to break through in the east,” O’Brien said.

“That’s the first step to success.”

More air defense systems and other weapons are crucial to enable the country to sustain its fight over an extended period.

“There comes a point when Russia has to think about whether it can continue to advance,” the State Department official explained.

“Defining Ukraine’s success means the country must be able to control all its internationally recognized territory,” O’Brien added.

The U.S. decided to change its priorities for supplying arms to foreign states and will now prioritize sending Patriot and NASAMS air defense missiles to Ukraine, reports indicated on June 20.

  1. “When I talk about Ukraine’s strategy for success right now, it’s about halting Russia’s attempts to break through in the east,” O’Brien said.

Well Mr Obvious, I’m sure Ukraine have worked that out all by themselves. If you really want to stop mafia land, send Ukraine the tools to do the job. The US have already been accused of being involved in this war, so there is nothing to stop you from sending long range missiles.

  2. A hollow and weak strategic analysis which shows that there is on the side of the allies neither will, nor plan, nor change of doctrine allowing a victory for Ukraine. “We” will systematically add a log of wood just before the fire goes out. That’s all. It’s sad. The weeks, the months go by and we will find “ourselves” in a terrible situation in November. Terrible.

  3. Reading this dude’s assessment was a total waste of my time. Instead of announcing a REALLY POWERFUL aid package that includes no limits on their use, we read something a child could figure out. Pathetic!
