The United States does not expect any decisions to be made at the NATO summit in Washington in July in terms of inviting Ukraine to join the military alliance, but there will be a substantial show of support for Kyiv.

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien told this to reporters on Friday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

“We do not anticipate that there’ll be an invitation for Ukraine to join NATO, but we think there will be a substantial show of support for Ukraine as it works to win its war,” he said.

O’Brien clarified that this would include NATO support in building Ukraine’s future force and efforts to help the country make reforms needed for Ukraine to join the European Union and “run across the bridge to NATO as quickly as it’s able.”

The NATO summit will be held in Washington on July 9-10.

  1. It’s more likely for Elvis to be making the keynote speech than for Nato to show courage and decency.

  2. Ukraine will have to wait until a genuine president sits in the WH and not an old foolish clown.

    • We’ve been waiting for 40 years. Are you sure there is anyone in the US of that calibre to become a genuine POTUS?

  3. You have to remember when the U.S. elects a new president he isn’t always aligned with the previous presidents ideas. It takes time to change laws and shift the economy. Trump is for the Rich , Right wing Radicals he and his attorneys are fighting legal battles at the moment with the potential of facing jail time. Trump will leave Ukraine high and dry and NATO will have to step up. As time goes on I don’t feel like NATO has any balls either. Especially so should Trump turn his back on Ukraine. This would be the ideal situation for Putin.

Biden knows the Ins and outs of Democracy and has served for years in congress and as Vice President. He is working within the confines of the Treaties set forth after WW2. Yes he’s campaigning to the American people to be re-elected and serve another 4 years in office. Biden is doing everything he can to assist Ukraine. Should Biden suddenly pass the Kamala Harris the Vice President will step up to fill the spot. She will not leave Ukraine out in the cold. How she responds to Russia is unknown should the war escalate.

So you have to chose when the time comes, which old guy do you want ? Trump or Biden.
