A bipartisan group of congressional representatives, members of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, has called on Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to allow Ukraine to use U.S.-provided weapons to strike targets inside Russian territory, strengthen Ukraine’s Air Force and bolster its air defenses.
That’s according to a press release posted on the committee’s website, Ukrinform reports.
“After meeting with a delegation of Ukrainian parliamentarians, the congressional lawmakers emphasized that in order for Ukraine to better defend itself against Russia, the United States should authorize the use of weapons by Ukraine that would allow its military to strike strategic targets within Russia, train additional Ukrainian F-16 pilots, and bolster Ukraine’s air defense systems,” the committee said.
The letter, addressed to the U.S. Secretary of Defense, says the current U.S. administration is trying to limit Ukraine’s ability to strike targets inside Russia with U.S.-provided weapons.
“It is essential the Biden Administration allows Ukraine’s military leaders an ability to conduct a full spectrum of operations necessary to respond to Russia’s unprovoked attack on their sovereign land,” the letter reads.
In addition, the legislators emphasized the need to increase the number of Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet pilots and bolster Ukraine’s air defense systems.
I know that some might not agree with me, but Biden, by and large, has been a failure in this war. He has never grasped how essential it is to keep things a mystery from the enemy, to have the ability to make quick decisions, to be decisive and proactive, and to not let himself be chased under his desk with fear each time the enemy makes threats.
I’ve never feared the threats from mafia land. Ever! I do have fear of what happens if Biden doesn’t finally grow a spine.
Mr. Biden, take off those damned balls and chains from Ukraine!

And that is why the war is still raging and putler is doing nuke drills on the border.
“We do not seek a war between NATO and Russia. As much as I disagree with Mr. Putin, and find his actions an outrage, the United States will not try to bring about his ouster in Moscow. So long as the United States or our allies are not attacked, we will not be directly engaged in this conflict, either by sending American troops to fight in Ukraine or by attacking Russian forces. We are not encouraging or enabling Ukraine to strike beyond its borders. We do not want to prolong the war just to inflict pain on Russia.”
President Biden: What America Will and Will Not Do in Ukraine:
Indeed, that was a HUGE mistake right from the start.
All that Biden needs to do is privately tell Zelensky that the US won’t change its support for Ukraine if they use US weapons to attack military targets on ruSSian soil. There’s no need to make a public announcement that might invite an attack by ruSSia against US assets.
Ukraine bombs a ruSSian airfield; US says, “tut, tut, please don’t do that again. But here’s some more long-range ATACMs to replace the ones you used.”
Okay, Larry, that’s one way of doing it. But, this is still cowardice. Maybe it’s not so blatant, but cowardice, nevertheless.

You call it cowardice; I call it diplomacy.
Considering that I and much of my family live in one of the top 2 US targets for ruSSia to nuke, and I have relatives who live in the other one, I really would prefer it if President Biden didn’t tell putler, “Go ahead and nuke us! I dare you!”.
Calm down, Larry, there will be no nuke attacks. It’s all just smoke and mirrors.
I have family running into bomb shelters in Ukraine, sometimes 3x a day. Sir Facts is right, it’s still cowardice. We understand the Democrat Party is perfect in your eyes because it is your religion. That’s your right. But until you experience what we are experiencing don’t try to conjure up moral equivalencies. You want policies out in the open so they have effect and gain support. You don’t wait until no one is watching to punch a bully in the nose, you do it in broad daylight with everyone watching. Especially with the Moskali, the rest is cowardice starting with the super-coward Obama.

But it’s Ukraine that’s doing the punching. And we’re in agreement that President Biden shouldn’t be telling them to pull their punches. All I’m suggesting is that if Biden is afraid of the consequences of openly giving permission to use US weapons against ruSSian targets, he could do so quietly.
