Professor Gerdes Explains 🇺🇦
I examine reporting from the Financial Times, New York Times, Bloomberg, and Reuters on allegations that sanctioned Russian gas company Novatek may have been positioned to finance, supply equipment to, and potentially obtain a stake in a proposed $25 billion Alaska LNG export venture. Former Polar Train LNG CEO Joe Riddle and other executives reportedly left after raising concerns that funding presented as UAE-linked may have originated with Novatek.
I focus on what is established, what remains unresolved, and why the issue matters strategically. Novatek’s Arctic LNG 2 equipment, a possible minority stake, discussions involving Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Vladimir Putin, and the Trump administration’s Graham Act waiver all raise difficult questions about sanctions enforcement. Polar Train LNG denies wrongdoing, and the White House says the project received only brief discussion. But if a sanctioned Russian energy firm can benefit from a U.S. project framed as energy security, Washington’s pressure on Putin’s war economy risks losing credibility.

“But if a sanctioned Russian energy firm can benefit from a U.S. project framed as energy security, Washington’s pressure on Putin’s war economy risks losing credibility.”
What pressure? Sanctions have been lifted for the benefit of putler and the TACO crime family. Ukraine was just a side issue to them. Ukraine need to demand independent negotiators, not real estate agents grifting while putler murders civilians.
The GOP Putin Wing is intimately involved with the murder of Ukrainian children.
Ukraine’s agony will continue until these damn people are all safely under lock and key; along with Musk and Carlson.
Execs don’t quit for nothing. It also blows a hole in the TACO claims that mafia land won’t negotiate unless sanctions are lifted. As we can see, sanctions are lifted to benefit putler and the TACO crime syndicate.
KP just now :
President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine had offered Washington three possible ways to halt Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries, but none of the proposals has been implemented.
The first option is an energy truce: Russia stops attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, and Kyiv halts strikes on Russian refineries.
The second would see the US enable Starlink coverage over Russian territory, allowing Ukraine to target Russian ballistic missile launchers. Kyiv is prepared to provide their locations.
If Washington is unwilling to extend Starlink coverage, Zelensky proposed a third option: supplying Ukraine with additional missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
With none of these proposals implemented, Ukraine continues targeting Russian refineries.
Meanwhile, representatives from Ukraine, the US, EU and NATO are expected to meet in Brussels this week to discuss security guarantees and Ukraine’s European integration.

Both putler and Taco want Ukraine to surrender, so they can carry out their filthy deals once Ukraine are out of the way.
In a decent world, serial murderers get strung up, not given power of life and death.
Traitors Kushner and Wittkov only discuss illegal businessdeals with Putin. Not a second of time about Ukraine, thats for sure!!!!!!
