Explosions rocked the Rostov region of the Russian Federation on the night of September 4. Radar stations in the region were damaged as a result of a UAV attack .

The targets were hit near the cities of Shakhty and Volgodonsk, according to the monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+.

Attack details

The raid by kamikaze drones on the Rostov region began around midnight. Acting Governor Yuriy Slyusar announced that air defense forces and equipment allegedly repelled a massive attack, destroying and intercepting UAVs in Novoshakhtynsk, Kamyansk, Semikarakorsk, Millerovsky, Tarasovsky, Krasnosulinsky, Dubovsky, and Sholokhovsky districts.

The official claims that in several places in Tarasivskyi, Millerivskyi, and Dubivskyi districts, “dry grass caught fire” due to falling UAV fragments.

At the same time, the monitoring channel reported that UAVs attacked radar stations. According to NASA FIRMS satellite images, fires were recorded at the coordinates where the enemy radars were located.

According to preliminary data, this is TRLK-10 “Skala-M”. This is a stationary en-route radar complex designed to control air traffic on routes and in approach zones. It plays an important role in the air traffic control and air defense system. The radius of the complex reaches 350 km.

TRLK-10 “Skala-M” uses a parabolic antenna with a reflector size of 10.5×5 meters. Previously, such a complex has already become a target of attacks during hostilities.

What preceded

In August 2025, the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of Ukraine announced the destruction of the stationary TRLK-10 Skala-M complex in the settlement of Abrikosivka in the occupied Crimea. The destruction of this radar was of great importance, since its range reached 350 kilometers. According to the SOF, the destruction of Skala-M was supposed to significantly weaken the enemy’s use of aviation , which the occupiers use to destroy civilian infrastructure and civilians.

As a reminder, on August 31, explosions and a massive fire broke out in the city of Balashikha near Moscow. As a result of the incident , warehouses were on fire , and the fire covered 400 square meters.

As OBOZ.UA reported, on the night of September 1, UAVs attacked the Kropotkin electrical substation in the Russian Krasnodar Territory. As a result of the drones’ combat operations, a fire broke out.
