In the City of Dnipro, a Russian missile hit a five-storey residential building, demolishing several floors.

That’s according to the head of the regional military administration, Serhii Lysak, Ukrinform reports.

“A five-storey building is on fire in Dnipro. It is partially destroyed. There may be people under the rubble,” the initial report said, adding that six people were confirmed as injured.

Later, City Mayor Borys Filatov said the casualty toll rose to nine.

Lysak then updated the report by stating that at least two people were killed and 15 – injured.

An infrastructure object was damaged in the Kryvyi Rih district. There is also destruction in the Synelnyky district. A woman was killed.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, in the early hours of Friday, April 19, explosions rang out in Dnipro and Odesa during a Russian missile attack.

On the way back the TU-22M3 crashed in Russia.

  1. Deaths that should not have happened!

The emergency is the Patriot systems.
    Give them to Ukraine now!

If infrastructure and civilians are protected, the country can continue to “function”, survive and will be less dependent on foreign aid.

What is the point of keeping these defense systems which are gathering dust in the garages of NATO or countries which will never use them? Total moral bankruptcy!

  2. The world’s humanity ultimately evolves very little. In these circumstances, this news I often think back to the end of the film “Schindler’s List”, when the “hero” discovers that he could have done much more. “I could have done more, I could have saved more people…”

It is the same symbol that prevails here. It’s even more terrible for us (West) as we are locked into our certainties and our comfort zone.

What is life worth? This night, among others, 2 children will never know their free country, will never see a sunrise again, crushed by the bricks of their house, because we prefer to look elsewhere, to ignore the obstinacy of people to want to survive instead of giving in, because we falsely and shamefully believe we are already doing a lot. Worse still, none of this concerns us.

A little extra effort, however, can radically change everyday life. Unfortunately, blood must flow daily to finally strike consciences and for us to begin to provide to Ukraine defense systems worthy of the name against the Nazi threat from the Kremlin.

Give those damn Patriot systems now!

Tomorrow I hope that Congress will take stock of this moment in history where we can act with dignity or default and join the dustbin of history.

    • You’re right to be annoyed, Nato has been asleep at the wheel, once again. And don’t get me started on Maga Ukraine haters in Congress. Still, please note recent news here:
“NATO countries may transfer six Patriot systems to Ukraine, – Scholz”

NATO countries may transfer six Patriot systems to Ukraine, – Scholz

According to Kuleba, those Patriot systems have already been found, deals are on the way:

Not only the Netherlands wants to buy Patriot for Ukraine, – Kuleba

      • “may”
        “expressed their readiness”

In the end maybe things will come true. But they always materialize with a delay which only weakens Ukraine. We are still 2 trains behind on the levers that allow us to fully help Ukraine to generate positive gains on the front. We do not want escape from this crazy balance of “Ukraine and Russia must not lose”. And this political posture will ultimately kill Ukraine!

All these negotiations resemble what has been happening for 2 years. It takes titanic efforts for half of the promises to be fulfilled. In the end Ukraine is gradually retreating while still waiting on certain advanced weapons (F16, Taurus, ATACMS300…) or just ammunition and Russia can regain the initiative on the battlefield.
