Tucker Carlson bashed Russian President Vladimir Putin‘s justification for invading Ukraine, claiming that the “denazification” of the country was “one of the dumbest things I’d ever heard.”
Speaking with host Lex Fridman in a podcast episode released Tuesday, Carlson discussed his controversial interview with Putin released earlier this month. The former Fox News star has faced mounds of backlash for meeting with the Kremlin leader, which was the first time Putin agreed to sit down for an interview with Western media personnel since the start of the war in Ukraine.
Putin and Carlson’s interview touched on a long list of topics, from a long-winded Russian history lesson to Putin’s thoughts on the next U.S. presidential election. Carlson also described his first impression of Putin as someone who “seemed nervous,” telling Fridman that the Russian president “went into [the interview] like an over-prepared student.”
Fridman specifically asked Carlson for his opinion on Putin’s justification for continuing the war in Ukraine, which in part is to achieve the “denazification” of the country. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is Jewish, has repeatedly dismissed the Kremlin’s claims that Kyiv’s government is openly “pro-Nazi.”
“I thought it was one of the dumbest things I’d ever heard,” Carlson told Fridman. “I didn’t understand what it meant.”
“I hate that whole conversation because it’s not real,” he continued. “It’s just ad hominem. It’s a way of associating someone with an evil regime that doesn’t exist anymore.”
Nazism, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, describes the body of doctrines held by the Nazi Party movement led by Adolf Hitler in Germany. According to Carlson, Nazism does not exist anymore because it “is inseparable from the German nation.”
“I’m very anti-Nazi,” he told Fridman. “I’m merely saying there isn’t a Nazi movement in 2024. It’s a way of calling people evil.”
Newsweek reached out to the Kremlin’s press office via email for comment.
Putin has also complained about his conversation with Carlson, telling Russian journalist Pavel Aleksandrovich Zarubin that he had prepared for the former television host to “behave aggressively and ask so-called sharp questions.”
“I was not just prepared for this, I wanted it, because it would give me the opportunity to respond in the same way,” Putin said.
The Russian leader also explicitly mocked Carlson during the interview, pointing fun at the fact that his attempts to get a job with the CIA were repeatedly unsuccessful.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov previously told reporters that Putin gave an interview to Carlson because “he has a position which differs” from other Western media.”

So, Tucker had to be face to face with the ghoul to wake up to the fact that the ghoul is a ghoul. And this three weeks after the interview? What a genius.
Now, will he tell his fans that everything bad he said about Ukraine was false? And everything good about mafia land was also false? If he grew a brain and integrity, then yes.
I don’t think there’s any real change of mind by Carlovich, he only noticed that he had gone too far with his softball questions, which even Putin had ridiculed. Now he’s trying to save what’s left of his reputation. Also, his more critical stance now reflect his vain masters
Trump’s anger that the Russian dictator publicly claimed preferrance for Biden. That’s all there is behind this, Sucker tries to toe the Trump party line, me thinks. 😕
Fucker Karlsonov, 2024’s answer to Lord Haw-Haw, has already said and done enough to completely justify receiving the same fate.
Before anything he says can be believed, he needs to apologize, explain the origins of his extreme hatred of Ukraine, its people and its leadership and his determination to lie on behalf of a genocidal Nazi.
Finally he needs to admit he was wrong and explain that Naziism does exist today in the form of the putler regime.
Then he could begin rehabilitate his sewer level reputation and then more importantly, patiently explain to the magaputler rabble that they are backing the wrong horse.
This is the type of person who gets his views from Karlsonov: from the FB page of Roman Sheremeta:
“How can a pastor promote evil?”
“Can you imagine a pastor saying: “No matter what your thoughts are on Putin, I think we can all agree we need a leader who loves this country as much as he loves his.” This is exactly what Mark Driscoll posted on Twitter.
First, what do you mean by “no matter what your thoughts are on Putin”? Any Christian with a moral compass understands that Putin is a war criminal, who ordered a genocide, kidnapped children, killed hundreds of thousands of people. So, no we don’t need such a leader in the US.
Second, “who loves this country as much as he loves his.” Ukrainians first hand have experienced the “love” of Putin. And yes, Putin loves his country so much that he killed over 400 thousands of his people to commit genocide of Ukrainians.
Is this man even a follower of Jesus? Seems like the world of Jesus in Matthew 7:15 apply well for him: “They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”
And this Driscoll retard is not some hick preacher, he is a “brand name” with a big following.
If I remember correctly, in Sinclair Lewis’ farsighted 1935 novel “It Can’t Happen Here”, US evangelists are shown as willful supporters of the drive towards fascism, too. So, nothing has changed in that regard, sadly. ☹
For those interested in the book, which shows interesting parallels between the 1930s public mindset and demagoguery and current one, it’s in public domain in Australia:

Thanks Gray. Never thought hard that evangelists were supporters of fascism. There is a part of me that can kinda see how their views could tend towards that just as the Russian Orthodox church fully supports the little shit! I’ll get and read the book. Thanks again.
“Putin is a war criminal, who ordered a genocide, kidnapped children, killed hundreds of thousands of people. So, no we don’t need such a leader in the US.”
We democrats (small d!) don’t want such a murderous leader, but obviously, there’s a large mob of Trump fascists who would cheer on if “liberals” were rounded up and shot. I do think there’s a huge risk, literally a deadly one, arising from extreme polarization in the US. Dictatorship can happen there, like in 1930s Nazi Germany, I’m afraid. 😣
“behave aggressively and ask so-called sharp questions.”
“I was not just prepared for this, I wanted it, because it would give me the opportunity to respond in the same way,” Putin said.
Because your tiny brain cannot process any higher emotion than anger and aggression.
This is the standard mindset of the moskali thug classes which will never change until some sort of crushing defeat is inflicted upon them, as happened to Japan and Germany in WW2.
Even that might not do it though as the corruption that drives the thuggery is too attractive.
I don’t know how the ordinary people can take back power and control of their country, but they need to.
AWHHHHH. The little shits are having a lovers quarrel. Well, may the bird of happiness shit on both of them.

😁
So this knucklehead has been talking up Putin for years and now he suddenly catches on that Putin is an evil SOB who would run over a baby with a tank just to get some perceived “advantage” over the “enemies” of his own creation.
What an idiot.
What he really did was come home and figured out he was losing subscribers because most Americans hate Putin and he immediately walked back all of his Pro Putin bullshit.
Now I wonder how long we will have to wait until he walks back all of his anti Ukraine shit?
I am holding my breath.
Yeah, when even the murderous dictator complains that the questions had been too soft, any interviewer with a bit of brain left has to notice that he came off like a sycophant, a bootlicking admirer. The experienced spindoctor Sucker Carlovich ain’t a total doofus, he may have come to that uncomfortable conclusion. If not, Trump may have told him so.
🙄
Awww sucker Carlson found his boundaries, isn’t that special. Really bad when the 🐂💩 is that deep that even the 💩 peddler didn’t buy it.
Bwaaaahaaahaaahaaahaaa🤣😂🤣
> According to Carlson, Nazism does not exist anymore because it “is inseparable from the German nation.”
I suppose that’s a convenient position for him to take, considering that the American Nazi Party came out in favor of trumpkov.
