The Russian dictator said that by withdrawing troops from Kyiv he was trying to “avoid bloodshed or a serious war.”

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has decided to withdraw his troops from Kiev in the spring of 2022, allegedly because the West “deceived” him. He said this in an interview with propagandist Pavel Zarubin.
According to him, during the Istanbul talks, several European leaders asked the dictator to withdraw his troops so that the signing of the peace treaty would not look like a capitulation of Ukraine.
“Some European leaders, in conversations with me on the phone, said that it is impossible for Ukraine to sign a peace treaty, as one of my colleagues put it, “with a gun to their temple.” Then they told me that it is necessary to withdraw troops from Kyiv,” Putin said.
The Russian dictator added that the Kremlin suspected that “deception was possible.” Nevertheless, the decision was made to withdraw troops, allegedly to “avoid bloodshed or a serious war.”
“There was practically nothing left to improve in the document. The Ukrainian side only proposed to put a personal end to the meeting of the two presidents. I agreed with this too. Suddenly, information came from Kyiv that they needed to consult with their allies and they took a week’s break. They consulted. Mr. Johnson (former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson – UNIAN) arrived, probably at the instigation of the former American administration led by Joe Biden… They persuaded the Ukrainians to continue the war,” he said.
Putin emphasized that allegedly Ukrainian officials and the British government do not even hide the fact that “Kyiv was forced to continue fighting Russia.” However, he did not specify who exactly he was talking about.

The Russian Army was defeated near Kyiv. There was no normal withdrawal, fool.
Wiki have a slightly different take on it, which sounds like the orc army of today.
Russian forces initially captured several towns and cities, but logistical and supply failures, stiff Ukrainian resistance, and subsequent poor morale caused the advance to stall. With heavy losses and the inability to make further progress, Russia withdrew its forces from Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Sumy Oblasts in April 2022, and Ukrainian forces retook control.
That’s how I remember their defeat.
We can say thank you to the mafia potato generals for a battle plan any high school student could’ve done better. Things haven’t changed one bit since then.
I would say once they fucked up in Hostomel, that was the end of it. This 65km column was a feeble attempt to save putlers face. I remember watching videos of the chaos as Ukraine attacked this column with Javelins, etc.
It could’ve been a major victory for the Ukrainians if they would’ve had enough troops in the area.
Or weapons. The orcs had no answer to Javelins, but they were in limited supply.
Nice fairy tale. Of course it had nothing to do with the mafia army getting destroyed in Irpin, and along the highway from Belarus.
