Russian aggression against Ukraine is not only “Biden’s war”, but also “Trump’s war”, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with journalists.
Thus, the Russian diplomat noted that over the past year, there have been numerous contacts between Moscow and Washington in various formats, including at the level of heads of state. And the Kremlin believed that the White House was their like-minded person on issues of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
“Our colleagues told us all the time, and Donald Trump emphasized publicly: ‘If I were president, there would be no war in Ukraine. This is Biden’s war, no one needs it, people are dying,’ and so on,” Lavrov emphasized.
However, the recent statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that the US supports Ukraine, according to Lavrov, indicates that “Biden’s war has become Trump’s war.”
“Especially, they, you know, have a budget in the Pentagon, and there is a section there about support for Ukraine through the Pentagon,” the Russian Foreign Minister added.
