Trump’s entourage believes that it is better for the Ukrainian president to leave Ukraine now and even told him where he should go.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s list of friends in the White House is shrinking as tensions mount in peace talks.

The always tense relationship between the two leaders has escalated into open hostility this week, the New York Post reports . While the deterioration in relations between Washington and Kiev seems sudden, one source familiar with the White House discussions said, “This is nothing new to me. I’ve been hearing for months that it’s time for elections and new leadership.”

A second source close to Trump agreed with the assessment and suggested that “the best option for [Zelensky] and the world would be for him to leave for France immediately.”

Meanwhile, a White House official admitted that he doesn’t like Zelensky because he “bans churches.”

Former White House defenders of Ukraine, including national security adviser Mike Walz, have echoed Trump’s views to criticize Zelensky but say nothing about Russian dictator Putin.

“The US president’s statements show that he wants the elections in Ukraine to take place as soon as possible, and for Zelensky to be replaced by someone more amenable to negotiations. This could be someone Trump and his allies trust: a military leader or a businessman,” the publication noted.

At the same time, sources noted that there is no obvious candidate that Trump would prefer.
