Trump’s son’s wedding paid for by putin’s oligarch: Congress launches investigation

Robert Garcia, a Democratic Party representative in the US Congress, has launched an investigation into the financing by russian businessman Umar Kremlev of a three-day wedding party in the Bahamas for one of US President Donald Trump’s sons. It was reported by Axios.

The congressman accompanied his initiative with an official letter to the White House, in which he noted that members of his political party are constantly investigating the numerous ways in which the Trump family has attempted to enrich itself through its proximity to President Trump. And, as Garcia notes, the news of the Kremlin’s alleged sponsorship of the Trumps’ family celebration could become “the most serious allegation to date.”

Separately, he reached out to Trump Jr. himself to obtain all information regarding his ties to the kremlin. Specifically, he asked for the dates on which the two men communicated, a complete list of wedding guests, and any correspondence with the White House regarding the controversial russian businessman.

Recall that the US president’s daughter-in-law, Bettina Anderson, herself confirmed that her wedding was indeed partially funded by the russian Umar Kremlev, claiming that it was simply a friendly gesture and a gift. In her statement, she ignored the fact that this “family friend” from russia is closely linked to the bloody regime of dictator putin, yet she is “infinitely grateful” to him for his generosity.
