The son of the US President-elect, Donald Trump Jr., has criticized aid to Ukraine from nearly three years ago amid devastating fires in Los Angeles .
On social media , Trump Jr. said that the Los Angeles Fire Department donated “a lot of its supplies” to Ukraine, and today it cannot control the elements in its immediate area of responsibility. As evidence of his “version”, he attached a media message from March 18, 2022.
“Oh, of course, the LA Fire Department donated a lot of their supplies to Ukraine,” Trump Jr. wrote.
Billionaire Trump ally Elon Musk reposted the tweet, showing he shares the sentiment.
“The hydrants weren’t filled. They cut $17 million from the fire budget. They sent supplies to Ukraine…,” Musk wrote.

Fires in Los Angeles
As UNIAN reported, a forest fire has engulfed a prestigious area of Los Angeles. The fire has forced 30,000 people to evacuate.
At least 1,182 hectares have burned, officials said, with the fire spreading quickly due to strong winds that followed long periods of dry weather.
Forecasters reportedly issued the highest level of danger, with wind speeds expected to be between 50 and 80 mph in Los Angeles. Low humidity and dry vegetation made conditions “as bad as it gets in terms of fire weather,” experts said.

Right now, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California has more water stored than it has ever had before, according to Mark Gold, a board member. “It’s not a matter of having enough water coming from Northern California to put out a fire,” he told Alastair Bland of CalMatters. “It’s about the continued devastating impacts of a changing climate.”
Hydroclimatologist Peter Gleick told Taryn Luna, Liam Dillon, and Alex Wigglesworth of the Los Angeles Times that trumpkov’s linking of water policy to the raging fires was “blatantly false, irresponsible and politically self-serving.”
