Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski says Trump’s lack of protests over the U.S. aid package shows his attitude towards Ukraine is changing.
Politico reported the information.
According to him, Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, has a position on Ukraine which is “not as black and white as some people think.”
Sikorski stressed that the change in Trump’s attitude towards Ukraine is evidenced by the fact that he did not protest against the $60 billion US aid package.
“I didn’t hear any protest,” he said. “So I hope that candidate Trump has seen that this opposition to helping Ukraine is not actually popular in the United States, that it’s harming his chances to be re-elected.”

Sikorski does have a point. Or, has anyone heard anything else about this?
“Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski expects German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to reconsider Germany’s decision on supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine following the U.S. provision of additional short-range ATACMS missiles.”
Chances are better that Trump has changed his mind over Ukraine aid than Scholz growing a set of balls … even pea-sized ones.
We can only cross fingers, Mr. Ofp. But stubborn Scholz may hold out until the US deliver Tomahawks, I’m afraid. 😕
Maybe Biden has finally reached the point where he is willing to do just that, Mr. Gray. He’s sending a lot of ATACMS, so why not?
He’s not sending F-16s yet, he didn’t even insist on the Pentagon to make Patriot batteries ready for the first delivery, so I’m not convinced that Biden is really focussed on Ukraine now. Of course, he has lots of issues on his mind, six months before the election, but I’m afraid he’s really not that interested in global politics. 🤔
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that Biden has zero military talents.
If he were smart, he would simply tell his generals to get together with the Ukrainian generals and work out a list of items with them to send to Ukraine, and then just sign the papers. That’s all he would have to do.
The truth is, Trump hasn’t changed his position, people are just now starting to actually listen to him instead of the parroting and speculative media.
I think we’ve been listening to the orange traitor more than enough, Red.
Is even Trump noticing that Putin’s war is a strategic failure that won’t end well? The self centered loudmouth ain’t a deep thinker, but he’s got good political instincts. Should Putin lose his support, there’s no silver line on the horizon for Russia anymore. 😈
You’ve hit the nail right on the head, Mr. Gray.
I wonder why not more Americans can’t see what a German guy sees from across the Atlantic.
Well, I spend more time than the average American on informing myself on the issues, Mr. Ofp. Also, this is closer to the German skin than the US one, it’s only Poland between us and Ukraine, after all. And lastly, excuse me please for being unhumble about it, my IQ is at least in the top quarter. All in all, I’m not surprised about widespread US ignorance. 😕
I’m ashamed about our widespread ignorance. It’s so easy to get properly informed, yet so many are too stupid to do so, while many others just too damned lazy. It’s easier for them just to listen to other morons tell them what they want to hear.
In this respect, Mr. Gray, why are so many Germans more open to dialogue with mafia land instead of weapon deliveries to Ukraine? Haven’t they learned by now that no one can talk with someone who has a desire to kill you, and who has never honored an agreement? Why is that so in your country?
I have my suspicions…
I see three different pro-Russian groups at work here:
– Old traditional lefties, who had become so accustomed to reflexively judging Russia as good and the US as evil that they couldn’t grasp the tidal change after the fall of the Warzaw pact. They’re annoying, but mostly harmless, since their wrongheaded views are obvious. The one exception is the highly talented demagogue Sahra Wagenknecht.
– The significant minority group pf Russian immigrants, who overwhelmingly have a positive view of Putin. We shouldn’t have let these questionable “Germans” in in the first place and our country didn’t really profit from their lousy ethics and dubious stance towards democracy. While numerous, they don’t have much influence in politics and media, though.
– Rightwing radicals of the AfD, who are vehemently opposed to democracy and progress. They prefer Putin’s strongman dictatorship and his backward views on women, gays, minorities, you name it. They hate the German government and all other parties, which are way too leftist for them, and consequentially pro-Western Ukraine, too. Like the Maga nutcases, they are very willing to sell their own country out and thus eager to help RuSSia in its evil games. Since these radicals have a strong following among mostly male Germans and considerable political power, they are the most dangerous group. Efforts need of center on opposing their hate speech and getting their criminal leaders arrested. Just like the US, our democracy needs to defend irself against this dangerous epidemic of hate and extremism. Or else 1933 is right around the corner again. ☹
The problem with the AfD is a self-made one, since Germany has for too long allowed too many foreigners from across the globe into the country, thus alienating too many Germans. Combating the excessive immigration would take the wind out of the AfD sails.
Whom do you tell that, my friend? I still remenber the summer of 2015, when I was called a Nazi for opposing unlimited immigration. Remember, I’m a SPD voter, not some radical. :sigh: 🙄
Those who called you a Nazi are totally ignorant about some vital facts, like the one that Germany is already an overcrowded nation with a plethora of social and now economic problems. Importing many more human beings that exasperate the problems is the last thing the country should do. But, the stupidity of some people is sometimes just mind-boggling.
It will become clear that he has altered his position only when he issues a clear statement.
He owes Zel, the Ukrainian armed forces and the bereaved families of the victims of his “murders by proxy R us” policy a detailed explanation and a full apology.
Firstly for all the pro-Russia/anti-Ukraine statements he has made this past ten years years. Specifically: spreading the absurd conspiracy theory that Ukraine, not Russia interfered in the 2015 election, congratulating putler for his “genius” and “savvy” when unleashing genocide on Ukraine, authorizing his asshole son to slur Zel with the “welfare Queen” accusation and last but not least: orchestrating a six months long aid block that killed thousands.
I couldn’t agree more with you, Scradge.
But, Trumpet has no decorum and his egocentrism is too bloated to ever feel responsible for indirectly causing 1,000s of unnecessary deaths.
I also fully agree with you, Scradge. On the other hand, making clear statements is one mistake Biden has made. How many times has his administration said they won’t send this weapon or that weapon, won’t set boots in Ukraine, and so on? Trump not making clear statements is a good thing.
Trumpkov does make very clear statements when he wants to:
“Putin’s gonna take all Ukraine” could not be any clearer could it?
And:
“I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, ‘This is genius.’ Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful….”
Pretty clear also. As well as despicable, monstrous and evil.
Of course, you never let an enemy look at your cards. Never, ever.
But, Biden is a complete moron in this respect.
Just because you have imagined Trump blocking legislation doesn’t mean he owes an apology, its more appropriate that YOU apologize friend.
Can you change the brains of a 6 years old?
Sure, but it would take 12 years just to get him to the level of an 18-year-old.
Trump doesn’t like losers, period. Putler has become a loser. 😉
But, if putler strokes Trump’s cheeky-weekies and tells the orange one what a fabulous hue his skin has, and how his sultry voice makes putler’s balsy-walsies itch, Trump will melt for him again.
The fact that he didn’t protest against the aid package doesn’t mean he changed his mind. The aid package doesn’t directly interfere with his own political stump speech. Trumpkov’s most common take on the war in Ukraine has been to insist that, in an alternate version of history where he won in 2020, the war never would have happened. The mere fact of his leadership, he has said repeatedly, would have deterred putler from invading.
He has also insisted that if he wins in November, he could have the war settled before inauguration, though he hasn’t provided a specific plan around how he might do so. The resumption of large-scale military aid from the United States all but ensures that the war will be unfinished in Ukraine when Americans go to the polls in November.
If anything, Trump is not a person who is consistent. This unpredictability is one thing I don’t like about him. But, maybe he really is on the path of recovery from stupidity and sees the need to help Ukraine.
No, I don’t truly believe this. I just hope.
