US President Donald Trump will soon make an important statement, the White House press service reports .
The performance is scheduled for 9:00 PM Kyiv time, but its content is currently being kept secret.
It is important that today is the expiration date of the ultimatum that Trump gave to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to conclude a peace agreement with Ukraine.
What preceded
As UNIAN reported, the day before, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant said that Washington is considering new restrictions against Russia in connection with the increased shelling of Ukrainian cities by Russian troops.
“Putin, after the meeting in Anchorage, after the phone call when the European leaders and Zelensky were at the White House the following Monday, did the opposite of what he had made it clear he wanted to do. In fact, he escalated the bombing campaign in a disgusting manner,” Bessent emphasized.
The US had previously threatened Russia with consequences if it did not achieve peace with Ukraine. During a UN Security Council meeting convened after the large-scale shelling of Ukraine, Russia was told that otherwise Moscow would face sanctions.

Absolutely. Call me an optimist but after the big meeting with Zelensky and EU I was hoping for those secondary sanctions to kick in. I doubt the media will let him forget about what he said. He should start out by firing Hegseth……..
It was just a statement about moving space command centre, plus a lot of backslapping. Ukraine was never mentioned.
