The President of Ukraine did not like this idea.
US President Donald Trump expressed interest in Russia’s proposal to connect Chukotka and Alaska with a tunnel. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not enthusiastic about the idea. According to a UNIAN correspondent, this was stated at the beginning of a meeting between the Ukrainian and US presidents at the White House.
First, journalists asked Trump what he thought about the Russian idea of connecting Russian Chukotka and American Alaska with a tunnel through the Bering Strait.
“I just heard about that. A tunnel from Russia to Alaska? I just heard about that. Interesting. I’ll have to think about that,” Trump said.
And then the US President asked the Ukrainian President’s opinion on this idea.
“I don’t like this,” Zelensky responded.
In turn, Trump added that he didn’t think Zelensky would like this.
Tunnel from Chukotka to Alaska
Earlier, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and one of Putin’s closest allies, approached billionaire Elon Musk on the X network with a proposal to connect Chukotka and Alaska with a tunnel, which he called the “Putin-Trump tunnel.” Dmitriev urged Musk to build the future together.
It’s worth noting that such a tunnel would be approximately 90 km long. Technically, it’s not entirely unrealistic, but it would be extremely expensive. But that’s not even the biggest problem: the tunnel would connect two remote regions with no roads and almost no people. Therefore, it’s unclear who would use this very expensive tunnel.

On Crimea, poopin’s main foreign policy goal has always been Sevastopol. That was the 1st thing he took and immediately tore up Yanukobytch’s contract and turned it into a major military base in the center of the Black Sea. With this base, IMO, he can threaten every nation from Italy to Georgia and its his only warm water base if you don’t count what he built in Syria.
I don’t mean to insult you about Crimea we just disagree and as I understand it, the muslims in Crimea are super-patriotic and have been persecuted greatly by the Moskali.
