Trump and Putin discussed the war in Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump said he spoke on the phone with Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the war in Ukraine. He said this in an interview with the New York Post .

Trump did not say when their telephone conversation took place. Also, when asked how many times the leaders of the two countries spoke on the phone, Trump replied: “I’d rather not say.”

At the same time, Trump said that Putin “cares” about the killings on the battlefield, “he wants people to stop dying.”

He also stressed that he “always had a good relationship with Putin,” unlike previous President Joe Biden, and said he had a concrete plan to end the war.

“I hope it’s quick. People are dying every day. I want to end this damn thing,” he said.

Trump also said he wants to make a $500 million deal with Zelensky to gain access to rare earth minerals and gas in Ukraine in exchange for security guarantees in any potential peace settlement.
