US President Donald Trump announced that he had reached an agreement in principle with kremlin leader vladimir putin, according to which “land swaps” should take place between Ukraine and russia, and he sees a chance that Ukraine will refuse such an agreement.
The White House leader said this in an interview with Fox News.
The interview with host Sean Hannity took place in the negotiating room where Trump had previously met with Putin, immediately after a press conference at which Trump and Putin refused to answer questions from journalists. Instead, the US president chose to communicate with a TV presenter loyal to him.
In this interview, Trump emphasized several times that the main issue now is for Ukraine to accept the agreements he reached with putin.
“Ukraine has to agree. President Zelenskyy has to agree. Now it’s really up to President Zelenskyy to get it [peace deal] done, and I would also say the European nations, they have to get involved a little bit. But it’s up to President Zelenskyy. And if they’d like, I’ll be at that next meeting,” the White House leader emphasized.
Trump did not want to name the agreements himself, which could cause problems in their approval by Ukraine, but he clarified to the TV presenter whether his information on this difficult point was correct.
“There’s going to be some land swaps, there will be more Russian territory than there had been, and what Ukraine needs desperately are security measures that won’t be NATO-related,” Sean Hannity described it and asked Trump to clarify whether this information was correct.
Donald Trump answered in the affirmative.
“Those are points that we negotiated and those are points that we largely have agreed on, actually… We’re pretty close to a deal. Now look, Ukraine has to agree to it, maybe they’ll say ‘no’,” he said.
Trump assessed the possibility of concluding a deal as “50 to 50” and separately reported what signal he would send to Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with him.
“Gotta make a deal. Look, Russia is a very big power, and they (Ukrainians – Ed.) are not. They’re great soldiers,” Trump described what he would tell the Ukrainian President.
The interview did not provide any details on the scope and outlines of these “land swaps.” Zelenskyy previously emphasized that the issue of territories is defined in the Ukrainian constitution.

Petro Poroshenko just now.
Imperfect translation:
Putin should make concessions, not Ukraine. We must immediately demand a ceasefire from Putin. It is the simplest thing and the result we can achieve.
During the airtime on the air force repeatedly stated: we do not have to help Putin or allow him to distract us from a very important step to stopping the war.
I hope President Zelensky speaks about this at the White House.
We should also use parliamentary diplomacy. Talk to American congressmen and senators, to the American people. They must understand that this is their unique chance to preserve the United States leadership in a free and democratic world. This is an attempt to save democracy.
The window of opportunity is quite narrow. We don’t have years or months — we have weeks or even days to get results. We need to start creating working groups now to prepare some parts of the peace deal. If Putin is ready to start a ceasefire in the air tomorrow – we will do it. If the day after tomorrow he is ready to start a ceasefire at sea, we will do it. But ceasing fire on earth should be an integral part of the process.
If Putin doesn’t stop taking the time to continue killing Ukrainians, we should put a “plan b” on the table. Immediate supply of long-range assault weapons from the United States. putin needs to understand what it means to be under rocket fire as it is happening in Ukraine. “Hellish sanctions,” including secondary sanctions against countries that help Russia avoid restrictions imposed by the United States and Europe. We must block Putin’s ability to finance the war. Using frozen assets of Russia to strengthen Ukraine.
And no less importantly – we must not allow Putin to use blackmail language and try to close for Ukraine the door to integration into the EU and NATO.
Witness to history; the end of Pax Americana.
When they speak of the Alaska meeting in the future it will be with the same tone as the Munich Agreement and Trump is the new Chamberlin.
Absolutely. We have found our Chamberlain, but an even worse one, by far.
And prasing the Russian soldiers: they are great soldiers………..The greatest traitor ever seen.
We had traitors in our history that got shot for what they did, but they weren’t as bad as this one.
Zelensky won’t agree to that, and the fat orange bastard knows it.
Not sure what you know, but i’m more optimistic. 😁
I’m willing to be proven wrong any time, Mike.
👍
I am not allowed to post on here. Boris has written an outstanding article for the DM, titled :
“It’s the most vomit-inducing episode in all the tawdry history of international diplomacy but it will have taught Trump this vital lesson …….”
Comments have been completely taken over by a horde of kremtrolls; mainly domestic.
That’s how you know it’s a good article.

Why aren’t you allowed to post on here, scradge?
Man, can’t we all be proud of our different opinions instead of sabotaging the cause?
I don’t have any problems with differing opinions, but Red seems to mind.
I had posted an article by the Texan Christian conservative, attorney and film-maker DW Phillips, who with his son Honor and associates like Roman Sheremeta, has raised $millions for Ukrainian causes.
He was critical of maga and raised questions about Epstein.
RSM took issue with it, as he is entitled to, but attacked me with horrible personal comments. Something he does frequently to me. I defended myself in a way he didn’t like.
He deleted our exchange of insults and removed my posting rights. I can’t even edit my own comments anymore.
Try to post the Boris piece if you can.
That is bullshit! I also rant on taco and maga, all the time! Is Red going nuts? How can he be so completely blind regarding that piece of orange maga shit?
Okay, I tried to post your article. Unfortunately, it’s behind a paywall.
The Mail has a lot of shit articles by cunts like Peter Hitchens. But it also has Boris and Edward Lucas, who give good value.
You don’t have to pay to access most of the DM. You just need the app and you then create an account, which you can comment on.
I’d like to see you on there hammering Hitchens.
Re RSM, you must have seen the vile insults he has posted to me over many years.
Even though my opinion on Krasnov is no different from you or F1, it’s me who he picks on.
I would have preferred to continue posting, but on the upside, I only have a limited amount of time available to go online, so I can now do more on the DT, which is almost the only pro-Ukraine conservative site in the world in terms of quality.
I do pay for that and don’t begrudge it.
I was happy to share its quality output with UT, but it’s not to be.
This is so unfortunate, and I don’t understand Red for having done this to you. You don’t deserve it. You have always been a valuable contributor on here. Maybe I can convince him to restore your rights.
He knows that Zelensky will never agree to the demands that putler ordered Krasnov to accept. The question is, what will Krasnov do in response. Stop all intel, arm russia, blame Zelensky for the war?
