Russia emphasizes the symbolism of the meeting of both leaders in Alaska.
The meeting between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska will bring peace, Putin’s special representative for economic cooperation Kirill Dmitriev said .
“Neocons and other warmongers will not be smiling on August 15, 2025. Dialogue between Putin and Trump will bring hope, peace and global security,” he wrote on the social network X.
Dmitriev also published a tweet hinting at the symbolism of the meeting in Alaska. He stated that this territory historically links Russia and the United States. In particular, Putin’s special representative published a map from 1860, on which Alaska is called “Russian America.”
He also showed a US Treasury warrant from 1867 for $7.2 million for the purchase of Alaska and a receipt signed by Russian envoy Eduard de Stoeckl.
Dmitriev didn’t stop there – to finally convince people of Alaska’s historical connection with Russia, he published photos of Russian churches in the state.

A corrupt peace ‘deal’ is a guarantee of greater war!
Putin is a genocidal war criminal. Rewarding him with gains in Ukraine, reduced sanctions, and international legitimacy, tacitly approves his global crimes, and makes the world a much more dangerous place.
Putin is a kgb trained officer, mafia boss, and war criminal. He plans and implements ‘double bind’ strategies that few Western Allies are trained to deal with. ‘Double bind’ means that engaging with him dams you on all outcomes.
US Envoy Steve Witkoff was clearly ‘played’ multiple times by putin, and his friend Dimitriev. Witkoff reportedly even mistook the kremlin position on a ceasefire recently; which led to multiple requests for clarification from Allies of Ukraine.
Mr. Trump and Mr. putin have different goals from a meeting. Trump wants global attention and reaction, and a Nobel Peace Prize.
Putin wants legitimacy from the US to use to increase his attacks on Ukraine, and to demonstrate that international law is useless and is now replaced by law of the powerful.
Allies of Ukraine wish for international law to be upheld and restored, but institutions like the UN, NATO, and Europe do not seem willing to defend international rules and victim nations.
This is why a NATO commander, in discussion some years back, suggested to me that an Alliance/Coalition of willing nations is needed to defend Ukraine, the Baltic Nations, the Balkans and neighbours of a ruzzia that plans to expand.
Ukraine is the battleground that will decide the future of our rules based world.
If Ukraine and Allies cannot defend our rules and our borders, then genocidal autocracy hammers a nail into the heart of safe democracies.
Remember, and pay attention! Limited democracy began in Greece nearly 2,500 years ago. It was soon replaced by Autocracy as it was weak and corrupt.
In most human history people have lived as slaves or serfs to Autocrats. Don’t complacently believe that democracy and freedom are safe and your future will be free and peaceful!
Freedom is not free. New powers are rising to challenge democracy.
Lesson number one from Ukraine is ‘DEFEND YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES’!
Ukraine gave up over 1,000 nuclear weapons and chose a peaceful future.
America and ruzzia guaranteed Ukraine’s peaceful future.
Then ruzzia invaded Ukraine twice and America didn’t defend Ukraine twice.
Today, this week, America and ruzzia meet to discuss the partition and division of Ukraine against international law, against agreed rules, and contrary to all codes of decency; contrary to civilisation.
Corrupt ‘deals’ never lead to peace. They lead to wider war, chaos, and increased human misery.
The path to peace is law based. Putin is a genocidal war criminal. He must face justice for his crimes. Ruzzia resources must pay full compensation to Ukraine and Allies for damages and costs accrued. Kremlin imperial ideology must be disbanded and totally reformed to remove future threats.
Ukraine must be assisted to succeed as a democracy with safe defended borders. This will be the greatest statement from the rules based world that freedom is alive, and democracy thrives safely and surely.
The free world must step up to defend itself at any cost. The West is significantly wealthier, stronger, and more capable than putinism in every realm, except political determination to absolutely deter and degrade present and future aggressors.
Let’s grow determination and actuon together to defend Ukraine and our free world.
