Ukraine is seeking to obtain American long-range Tomahawk missiles, which would allow it to strike targets in major Russian cities.

On Thursday, October 16, US President Donald Trump held a phone call with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The outcome of this conversation cast doubt on the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.

Reuters reports this . It is noted that the conversation between the Russian and American leaders took place on the eve of Trump’s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, where the Ukrainian leader sought increased military support, including the provision of missiles.

“However, Trump’s conciliatory tone after his phone call with Russia appears to have cast doubt on the possibility of such support in the near future and raised concerns in Europe about US capitulation to Moscow,” the article states.

During the conversation, Putin told Trump that the transfer of these missiles to Ukraine would allegedly damage the peace process and relations between Russia and the United States of America.

Ukraine is seeking to obtain American long-range Tomahawk missiles, which would allow it to strike targets in Moscow and other major Russian cities. The US President has said he might provide Ukraine with long-range weapons if Moscow does not negotiate.

At the same time, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth said the day before that Washington would “impose sanctions on Russia for its ongoing aggression” if the war does not end.
