The American president is surprised that this has not been done before.
Low world oil prices will help end the war in Ukraine , so Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest exporters of black gold, should lower prices. This was stated by the new US President Donald Trump, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos .
“I’m surprised they didn’t do this before the [US presidential] election. If the price had gone down, Russia’s war against Ukraine would have ended quickly. As long as the prices are high, the war will continue,” he said.
Trump says his efforts to resolve Russia’s war against Ukraine are “a work in progress.”
In addition, in his speech, the US President called on NATO countries to increase their own defense spending to 5% of GDP.

The Saudis, like the Turks, play both sides in this terrible war; no fucking integrity.
He’s basically asking : are the tricky and corrupt Saudis, led by MBS, going to back the US on this, or go with putler, who is as bent as they are?
I don’t know the answer, but MBS may go with Trump on this.
