President Donald Trump recently proposed to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz that Ukraine receive five Patriot missile defense systems instead of just two.

According to The Wall Street Journal, this suggestion followed Trump’s review of video footage showing Russian airstrikes on Ukrainian cities. Moved by what he saw, Trump personally called Chancellor Merz to advocate for increasing the number of Patriot systems supplied to Ukraine.

Additionally, the US President agreed to the use of German funds for the purchase of American weapons to support Ukraine, the publication noted.

“President Trump has expressed his frustration with Putin both publicly and privately,” said White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly.

It should be noted that, according to the American President, Patriot missile system rockets have already been sent to Ukraine.

Ukraine will receive surface-to-air missiles from Germany, which will later replenish its own stock by purchasing them from the United States.

  1. I just wish leaders in the West would shut up about what might be, or could be sent. It does nobody any good and serves no purpose at all.
