Immediately after a tense exchange with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, US President Donald Trump gathered his key advisers for a discussion in the Oval Office.  

Trump consulted with Vice President Vance, the US Secretary of State, a White House spokesman said, CNN reports  .

Rubio, Treasury Secretary Bessent and others. That’s when he concluded that “Zelensky is not in a position to negotiate.” He then instructed Secretary of State Rubio and his national security adviser Mike Waltz to deliver the message: “It’s time for Zelensky to leave the White House.”  

The Ukrainian delegation was expecting the talks to continue, during which an agreement on natural resources was planned to be signed. However, the Ukrainians were given to understand that it was time for them to leave, a source told CNN. According to him, Trump gave the order to do so. The publication writes that Zelensky and his team were not even allowed to have lunch.

While the prepared food remained on the serving tables in the hallway, the Ukrainians were given clear instructions to leave the building. According to a White House source, the Ukrainian side wanted to continue negotiations, but was refused.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky left the White House early after meeting with US President Donald Trump. A press conference planned following the talks was cancelled.

Trump himself stated that Zelensky is not ready for either a burnout or peace.

“He disrespected the United States of America in their cherished Oval Office. He can return when he is ready for peace,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Later, Zelensky himself commented on his visit to the United States .

“Thank you, America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit. Thank you to the President, Congress, and the American people. Ukraine needs a just and lasting peace, and that is what we are working for,” the president wrote.
