US President Donald Trump said that the restrictions that the European Union countries have introduced against the aggressor country of russia are too weak. He called on allies to increase pressure on Moscow and act more decisively.
This is reported by Fox News.
The American leader emphasized that he considers European states to be his friends, but expressed indignation because they continue to buy russian oil.
According to Trump, it is NATO and European countries that should unite and unanimously introduce stricter sanctions against the Kremlin.
“The sanctions that they (the Europeans – ed.) are introducing are not tough enough. I am ready to introduce sanctions, but they should strengthen their sanctions in accordance with what I am doing. I think they will do it, but right now they are only talking, not acting,” he stressed.
It is worth noting that in recent months, Trump has repeatedly threatened to impose new restrictive measures against russia due to vladimir putin’s unwillingness to negotiate an end to the war.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 12, the United States proposed to the G7 countries to confiscate the frozen assets of the aggressor country of russia, as well as to impose 100% tariffs on China and India for purchasing russian oil.
The United States also imposed new restrictions against companies that helped russia circumvent sanctions.
Meanwhile, Trump named the condition under which he would impose serious sanctions against russia.
