Trump on delay in tightening sanctions against Russia: I haven’t completed either the second or third phases yet

US President Donald Trump has reacted sharply to a journalist’s question about the delay in imposing tough sanctions on Russia. He said that Russia has already lost “hundreds of billions of dollars” due to secondary sanctions imposed on India for buying Russian oil.

The American leader said this  while talking to reporters at a meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki in the Oval Office, Censor.NET reports.

A Polish journalist asked Trump why he had repeatedly expressed disappointment with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin but taken no action.

“How do you know there was no action? Does the imposition of secondary sanctions on India, the largest buyer outside of China, mean nothing to you? They are almost equal,” the head of the White House said.

He stated that it cost Russia hundreds of billions of dollars.

“It’s costing Russia hundreds of billions of dollars. You call that a lack of action? And I haven’t taken phase two or phase three yet. But when you say there’s no action, I think you should get yourself a new job. Because if you remember, two weeks ago I said if India bought, they would have big problems, and that’s exactly what happened. So don’t tell me about that,” Trump said.

It was previously reported that Trump said he had no messages for Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin and was waiting for his decision on the war in Ukraine.

  1. “He said that Russia has already lost “hundreds of billions of dollars” due to secondary sanctions imposed on India for buying Russian oil.”

According to data from the Indian Embassy in Moscow, bilateral trade between India and Russia reached USD 68.7 billion in the 2024-25 financial year.

Did they teach maths at the school Trump attended, or just how to lie about everything?

    • For one week, in the worst scenario………………………its hardly 1 billion dollar………..but even that is very doubtful………….lets say 300 million dollars………
