Ukraine can no longer rely on the US, the former minister believes.

Ukraine is unlikely to change the attitude of US President Donald Trump towards Ukraine . This opinion was expressed by former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba in an interview with “Great Lviv Speaks” 

“I want there to be no illusions. It is very difficult to imagine what can change this Trump. What can soften him, restrain him, prevent him from chopping with an axe. This is a subject of conversation and work. But for him to take our side – this will not happen,” Kuleba said.

He emphasizes that it is time to realize that Ukraine can no longer rely on the United States, and this will not change even after Trump’s presidential term ends.

“As sad as it is to admit, America is gone. We can no longer rely on America. Not now, nor at least in the medium term. That is, even after Trump leaves,” Kuleba noted.

Trump’s statements regarding Ukraine

On the eve of Donald Trump held a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky. After it, the American president, in particular, criticized Putin for attacks on civilians in Ukraine . Trump also stated that such actions of the Kremlin dictator “makes you think that perhaps he does not want to stop the war.”

Meanwhile, The Telegraph journalists note that Trump’s meeting with Zelensky may indicate that a ceasefire in the war is closer than ever . At the same time, according to the journalists, it is unlikely to be a victory for Ukraine.
