Donald Trump launched a blistering attack on Prince Harry after the Duke urged America to honour its obligations in the Ukrainian conflict.

Responding to the speech Harry made during a surprise visit to Ukraine, the US president told reporters: ‘I know one thing, Prince Harry is not speaking for the UK, that’s for sure. I think I am speaking for the UK more than Prince Harry.’

‘But I appreciate his advice very much,’ he added.

Mr Trump went on to ask: ‘How’s he doing? How’s his wife? Please give her my regards.’

Harry, 41, delivered a lengthy, impassioned speech at the Kyiv Security Forum on Thursday, saying he was ‘not here as a politician’ but as ‘a soldier who understands service’ and a ‘humanitarian’.

In a rare input on global matters, the King’s youngest son turned his attention to the US – although he did not mention Mr Trump by name – urging the ‘American leadership’ to ‘honour its international treaty obligations’ in its ‘enduring role in global security’.

Harry said: ‘The United States has a singular role in this story.

‘Not only because of its power, but because when Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons, America was part of the assurance that Ukraine’s sovereignty and borders would be respected.

This is a moment for American leadership, a moment for America, to show that it can honour its international treaty obligations – not out of charity but out of its enduring role in global security and strategic stability.’

Harry’s unannounced visit – his third trip to Ukraine since the war began in 2022 – comes days after he finished a tour to Australia with his wife, the Duchess of Sussex.

He stopped in the UK on his journey to Ukraine, but only to transit through.

Harry arrived in Kyiv by train after Russian drones struck a railway yard in the country’s Zaporizhzhia region, where a train driver was killed, according to Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba.

The Duke was greeted by Ramina Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the executive director of the Open Ukraine Foundation, who organised the Kyiv Security Forum.

After stepping off his overnight train, he told reporters: ‘It’s good to be back in Ukraine,’ adding he wanted to remind people around the world what Ukraine is up against, and to support those doing extraordinary work every hour of every day in incredibly tough conditions.

The King and Queen are due to travel to the US on Monday for a four-day visit, during which they will meet Mr Trump.

The President has said the visit could ‘absolutely’ mend relations with the UK, damaged over the Iran war.

  1. In nearly all extended families, there is always one member who married a grifter who manages to brainwash them.
Harry served his country well in the British Army and was well-liked. He married a bunco artist who turned him against his family and his country.
As a consequence he has little or no standing in the UK.
But his choice of worlds in Kyiv reveal that he still has a moral compass.
It’s impossible for any decent person to disagree with him.

      • Of course he knows.
That is why the UK is helping. Only Germany with the third largest GDP in the world contributes more.
Krasnov is doing his best to help his genocidal nazi friend while simultaneously abusing and sneering at Zel in particular and Ukraine in general.

      • Please don’t try to use equivalence as an argument. As Sir Scradgel mentioned, the Uk is supporting Ukraine. Can you say as much for the fuckin idiots in the WH. Maybe Temp will invite his pal in North Korea to the G20 or better yet Trumps Peace Council. How’s that going?

        • Yeah the initial betrayal was when Obama let putin just waltz into Crimea in 2014. No wonder putler thought he could do the same in 2022 while Biden napped. Thank God he finally woke up after seeing what putler did to Bucha and led the USA to pass bipartisan legislation to support Ukraine. But you’re right, Trump ended up weaker than Biden but not Obama in my opinion.

The King is a “great man” who could help repair the fractured relationship between the US and Britain, Donald Trump has said.

The US president said the monarch could “absolutely” repair the much-cited special relationship between the two countries, which has become strained in recent months.

“I know him well, I’ve known him for years,” Mr Trump said during a phone interview with the BBC before the King’s four-day state visit, which begins on Monday. “He’s a brave man, and he’s a great man.”

The president, however, appeared more muted when discussing Sir Keir Starmer, saying the Prime Minister could only “recover” if he changed course on immigration.

“If he opened the North Sea and if his immigration policies became strong, which right now they’re not, he can recover, but if he doesn’t, I don’t think he has a chance,” Mr Trump said.

Donald Trump claimed Prince Harry does not “speak for the UK” after the Duke of Sussex urged the US to step up to defend Ukraine.

Mr Trump told The Telegraph that the Duke of Sussex, who lives in California, was not a voice for Britain after he criticised the US president for not doing enough to end the war.

“Prince Harry is not speaking for the UK, that’s for sure,” Mr Trump said. “I think I’m speaking for the UK more than Prince Harry.”

In a swipe at the Duchess of Sussex, the US president added: “Prince Harry? How’s his wife? Please give him my regards.”

  4. Harry quotes from the DT :

“The Duke also used the Kyiv speech to address Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, directly to say “no nation benefits from the continued loss of life we are witnessing”.

“There is still a moment – now – to stop this war.”

He accused Moscow of committing a war crime and an “act of genocide”, forcibly removing “tens of thousands of Ukrainian children” from their homes and transporting them to Russia.

“Under international law, the forcible transfer of children from one national group to another is not just a war crime – it can constitute an act of genocide when carried out with intent to destroy a people’s identity,” he said.

“This is not collateral damage. This is not the chaos of war spilling over.

“This is organised, systematic, intentional, and designed to endure long after the fighting stops.”

    Exactly right.
But unfortunately, the “Duke of Montecito” no longer has any standing in the UK.
