Trump is silent about attacks on Ukraine: The Guardian explained what this indicates

The first direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine since March 2022 ended inconclusively.

On the night of May 25, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine , resulting in deaths and injuries. However, US President Donald Trump has not responded to it.

The Guardian explains why the failure of the president of Washington to end Russia’s war against Ukraine is becoming increasingly apparent. His former confidence that he can resolve any military conflict is gradually fading.

The publication recalled that the first direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine since March 2022 ended in vain. They did not help achieve a ceasefire.

Instead of weakening Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Trump has given him even more power by refusing to put pressure on him, the publication noted. The US president’s plan was to reach an agreement with the Kremlin leader, but it failed.

After Trump’s two-hour conversation with Putin last Monday, the Russian dictator made it clear that he had no intention of ending the war against Ukraine. The publication added that the Kremlin leader had ordered the creation of a “security buffer zone” along Ukraine’s eastern border, and that strikes on civilian targets in Ukraine were continuing.

The publication also emphasized that Ukrainian and Russian factories are producing thousands of new drones. The war is becoming increasingly sophisticated, as Moscow uses a large number of false targets and systems designed to deceive Ukrainian air defense systems. At the same time, the Ukrainian military is striking Russian bases and factories that produce military equipment.

The publication believes that if Trump has already stepped aside, this poses a number of difficult questions for Ukraine, including the continuation of sufficient US military aid. More importantly, whether Europe can fill the diplomatic and military void caused by this disconnect.

No diplomacy is needed, just weapons to kill orcs.
