Trump will meet with Machado next week.

US President Donald Trump would not mind accepting the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the Venezuelan opposition leader. María Corina Machado herself raised the possibility after the operation to capture Nicolás Maduro.

In a recent interview with Fox News , Trump said he had heard that Machado allegedly wanted to give him his award. He said it would be a “great honor.”

“I understand that she will be arriving next week, and I look forward to meeting her,” the American leader said.

However, there is a nuance that the Norwegian Nobel Committee pointed out, writes The Washington Post .

“Once a Nobel Prize is announced, it cannot be revoked, divided, or transferred. The decision is final and remains in effect forever,” the statement reads.

  1. Who would want the medal anyway? That would be like receiving someone else’s Olympic medal or Purple Heart, knowing you didn’t deserve it. I think Trump is just trying to tweak the media again but doing that every day gets nauseating.
