Graham emphasized that “Trump is tired of this game” and advised Putin to agree to negotiations as soon as possible

US Senator Lindsey Graham has threatened Russian leader Vladimir Putin with significant consequences if he does not fulfill Donald Trump’s conditions and agree to a compromise on Ukraine.

“Putin, your turn is coming, Donald Trump is the Scotty Scheffler of American politics and foreign diplomacy, and he’s going to give you a good beating,” Graham said.

He stressed that Trump is going to impose tariffs on countries that buy Russian oil – China, India and Brazil. The senator noted that these three countries buy about 80% of cheap Russian oil and support the Russian military machine.

“Here’s what I would say to China, India and Brazil: if you continue to buy cheap Russian oil… we will impose huge tariffs on you and destroy your economy,” he said.

Graham emphasized that “Trump is tired of this game. If I were Putin, I would rather sit down at the negotiating table.”

Putin and the war in Ukraine

The Kremlin previously stated that Putin is ready to move towards a peaceful resolution of the war in Ukraine. However, Moscow’s main goal, as before, is to achieve its own goals.

At the same time, Western observers do not believe that Putin was at all impressed by Trump’s ultimatum and his demand that Russia make peace with Ukraine within 50 days. Journalists from The Telegraph call on the US president to act tougher – as with Iran.
