Trump is fueling escalation

Some Republicans in Congress still support Ukraine — but their support rests on three dangerous illusions:

  1. That Trump can prevent escalation.
  2. That Ukrainians will endure, no matter what.
  3. That Europe will somehow save Ukraine — with or without the U.S.

All three are false.

In reality:

  • Trump is fueling escalation — by cutting off weapons, lifting pressure on Putin, and blocking sanctions.
  • Ukrainian resilience is not infinite. People break when the world turns its back.
  • Europe lacks the military and economic capacity to fill the vacuum left by the U.S.

The cost of inaction is not abstract. It’s Ukraine today — but global stability tomorrow.

And the political future of those who stood by and did nothing will be judged harshly.

If Ukraine falls, it won’t look like a “smart deal” or “America First.” It will look like Super Afghanistan — and the world will remember who helped make it happen.

I disagree that Europe lacks the military and economic capacity ‘in terms of doing what should be done’, but it lacks the will, actual decision makers and accountable leadership; cowardice, shortsightedness and intellectual laziness is widespread though. If not corrected now, it will cost dearly to Europe and European later.

Trump only sees opportunities in russia and a threat in the EU, and whatever he says is following kreml narratives as does his entire “administration”. Merz responded right to him in the G7 meeting.

How can POTUS be pro-russia and anti-iran?

Easy: low-intelligence, ignorant, greedy for money [to family], and corrupt. What else does it need?

Tony Zielinski

Trevor Webster : follow the money.

What about what’s currently transpiring war with Iran or a direct conflict between the US, Israel and Iran with Russia backing Iran that smells of a larger confrontation.

Joe B. Many years ago, I was given a book title “when the Bear goes south”. It was basing bible prophesy and other factors, predicting Russia would invade Israel. The book was written in 1979 and i read it in 1981. I debunked it then as mad, religious rubbish, but today, it now seems not only possible, but likely. If Russia looses a key supplier in its military equipment, it could deem it necessary to help defend Iran against Israel. That would put Mr Trump in a very difficult position.
